Either ... or wird verwendet, wenn auf eine Auswahl zwischen zwei Möglichkeiten besteht.
We can either go now or after dinner.
Neither, nor
Neither ... nor wird verwendet, wenn man sich auf die Tatsache bezieht, dass zwei oder mehrere Dinge nicht wahr sind.
Gabriel speaks neither German nor Spanish.
Thomas wasn’t at the party and neither was his girlfriend.

Singular
Wenn beide Subjekte singulär sind, ist das Verb auch singulär.
Either the father or the mother has to join us on the trip.
Father und mother sind Singular, also ist das Verb “has” auch Singular.
Neither John nor Amy is going to attend the meeting.
(John und Amy sind Singular , also ist das Verb “is” auch Singular.)
Plural
Wenn ein Subjekt im Plural ist, ist das Verb auch Plural.
Either Sandra or the girls are going to prepare the birthday party.
The girls ist plural, also ist das verb ”are” auch plural.
Neither the teacher nor the pupils were in the classroom.
The pupils ist plural, also ist das Verb “were” auch plural.
